How to Add Copyright Info to an Album?

Copyright information is important to protect your music and clearly define who controls the rights to your release.

How to Add It

  1. Go to the Releases tab on your artist profile.
  2. Select the album you want to update.
  3. Click on the Album Info tab.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom — you'll see the Copyrights section.
  5. Fill in the ℗ and © fields as appropriate.
  6. Click the Save button to save.

About the ℗ Notice (Phonogram)

This symbol refers to the copyright of the sound recordings. It shows who owns the rights to the actual audio files on the release.

About the © Notice (Artwork)

This symbol refers to the album artwork or packaging. It typically includes cover design and, historically, any printed materials from CDs, Vinyl, or cassettes.

What Should You Add?

  • If a record label owns the rights, add the label’s company name to both fields.
  • If the release is independent, enter the name of the artist, group, or band who controls the rights.

Adding correct copyright info helps secure and protect your creative work.
